USA Basketball’s Maya Moore has accomplished so much already, all by the age of 27. She’s won multiple national championships in college for Connecticut, three WNBA titles in five seasons for the Minnesota Lynx, captured both a WNBA MVP and a WNBA All Star Game MVP.
She’s also managed to win gold medals for the United States at the 2012 Olympics, along with the 2010 and 2014 world championships. But for Moore, precisely when she knew she’d become a prototype of success in women’s basketball dates back to a single call four years ago that she’ll never forget.
Watch Moore recall to Excelle Sports how she knew she could be an Olympian.
USA Basketball will start their quest for gold against Senegal on August 7.
