Megan Willis, a former catcher and assistant coach for the USSSA Pride, has been named the team’s assistant general manager, it was announced Wednesday.
Willis becomes the first player from the NPF to assume the role of assistant general manager for USSSA. Her duties will include overseeing the front office during both the season and offseason.
Willis will take over the role from Gordon Glennie, who has held the position since 2009.
“I could not be more excited about this opportunity! It has always been a goal of mine to become a GM of a team in the NPF, however, it wasn’t until I had the privilege to play for the USSSA Pride that I realized I didn’t want to be a GM for just any team, I wanted to take over for Don when that day came,” Willis said in a press release.

As Willis has seen Glennie do, her role will be to establish relationships with the Pride players and USSSA front office.
In conjunction with a new assistant general manager, USSSA also has a new complex in Space Coast Stadium in Viera, Fla. The facility has 15 turf fields, five fastpitch fields and a new USSSA Pride stadium.
