USA Softball announced on Wednesday the 61 athletes who were invited to participate in the 2018 Women’s National Team Selection Camp. According to USA Softball, 56 players have accepted the invitation to Clearwater, Florida during the first week of January 2018.
The selection camp will give the invitees the opportunity to try out for and earn a spot on the 2018 USA Softball Women’s National Team. The selection camp will consist of position drills and simulated games for the athletes to participate in.
Before the camp opens, USA Softball will host an open tryout for athletes who wish to be selected to participate in the national team’s training and hopefully make the national team. Like the camp, the open tryout will primarily consist of drills. The tryout and camp will both be evaluated by the USA Softball WNT Selection Committee.
