Sandi Morris, Laura Robson safe after Las Vegas shooting

U.S. Olympic pole vaulter Sandi Morris and British tennis player Laura Robson notified their fans and the public Monday that they were safe after both were in Las Vegas during the shooting at the Route 91 Harvest Festival that left at least 50 dead and more than 400 injured.

Morris, who won the silver medal in pole vault at the 2016 Olympics in Rio de Janiero, was across the street from where the attack took place attending a Blue Man Group show.

She posted a video on Twitter describing the experience as “very surreal and odd,” as the building was put on lockdown for five hours, ending around 4:30 a.m.

Robson also tweeted out that she was safe after she was in attendance at the Las Vegas concert where the shooting took place.

Robson, who most recently played at an ITF tournament in Templeton, California last week, added “my friend who was deeper in the crowd has been helping people who were shot. We’re all in shock.”
