Sam Kerr earns two NWSL honors, Ashlyn Harris wins Save of the Week

Sky Blue FC’s Sam Kerr did the unbelievable this weekend to earn her fifth National Women Soccer League (NWSL) Player of the Week honors.

In Saturday’s matchup against the Seattle Reign, the Australian international helped Sky Blue recover from a 3-0 deficit, by scoring four goals in the second half. Thanks to Kerr’s fire, the New Jersey squad won the game 5-4. The 23-year-old is now the first player in league history to score four goals in one match. Kerr is also the first player to earn 40 career goals and is one of the few players—alongside Nadia Nadim (Portland Thorns) and Megan Rapinoe (Seattle Storm)—to score a hat trick in two separate matches.

Whatever Kerr is eating, we want it for breakfast, lunch and dinner.

Goal of the Week: Sam Kerr

It has to be Sam Kerr. Not only did she score four goals in one game, in this highlight, she beat four defenders and one goalie on this breakaway run. Watching this makes you wonder if Kerr is really that good or if the Reign went to sleep. Good morning, Seattle.

Goal of the Week: Ashlyn Harris

For the Orlando Pride, Ashlyn Harris had a great reaction save off of a Boston Breakers free kick. In the fourth minute of play, Harris denied a rocket of a header to earn the NWSL goal of the Week.

This Saturday, the Orlando Pride faces FC Kansas City at 3:30 p.m. ET while Sky Blue take on the Boston Breakers at 7 p.m. ET.
