Jade Jones of Wales may only be 23 years old, but she has already seen her share of championship titles. In 2010, she won the Youth Olympic Games. Then in 2012 she was selected to represent Great Britain in London and won her first gold medal. This year in Rio, she successfully defended her title in the 57 kg weight class, and she is now a two-time Olympic gold medalist.
Jones faced Eva Calvo Gómez of Spain in the gold medal match. It was a high-scoring showdown as Jones continued to rack up the points. Jones beat Gómez 16-7.
Gómez will take home silver, while Hedaya Wahba of Egypt and Kimia Alizadeh Zenoorin of Iran earned bronze.
