The New York Riveters announced on Tuesday that the team has re-signed Rebecca Russo for the 2017-18 season of the National Women’s Hockey League (NWHL).
The forward finished her rookie year as the Riveters’ third best scorer and as a participant of the 2017 NWHL All-Star game.
“Playing for the New York Riveters has been one heck of an experience, and I am looking forward to another fun and successful season with this great organization,” Russo said in the press release. “I am so incredibly blessed and honored to be able to continue to play the game I love most and re-sign for another season of hockey with the NWHL.”

Russo played 18 games with the Riveters and scored 3 goals and notched 13 assists to combine for 16 points. She also won the Fastest Skater award at the All-Star Skills Showdown.
While a student at Boston University, she helped the varsity hockey team win three Hockey East Titles. In high school, Russo led Shattuck-St. Mary’s to a national championship title in 2011.
