Notre Dame women’s basketball defeated the Duke Blue Devils 84-61 in Sunday’s ACC Championship.
The Irish wasted no time establishing their presence, as they jumped out to a 27-18 lead in the first quarter. The teams essentially traded baskets for the second quarter and Notre Dame led 43-31 at halftime. In the second half, Duke came out strong and held the Irish without a basket for the first four minutes to cut the Irish’s lead to two points. But Notre Dame never allowed the Blue Devils to get over the hump, responding with a 14-0 run of its own as the Irish built a 63-48 lead by the end of the third frame.
Arika Ogunbowale led Notre Dame with 21 points, while Brianna Turner and Erin Boley scored 18 and 14 points, respectively. Meanwhile, Duke’s Lexie Brown scored 16 points.
