Goalkeeper Michelle Betos has left the Portland Thorns to play with Norwegian side Valerenga for the 2017 season, it was announced Friday.
Valerenga, which plays in the Toppserien league, announced the addition of Betos on the club’s website Friday.
Betos, 28, had been with the Thorns since 2014. During her tenure in Portland, she made 30 starts and was named the NWSL Goalkeeper of the Year in 2015.
Following the departure of Betos, the Thorns are expected to sign another goalkeeper to join Adrianna Franch on the 2017 roster.
Betos tweeted Friday to thank Thorns fans for their support over the years.

Betos played collegiately for the University of Georgia and graduated with 316 saves, 26 shutouts and 48 wins to her name.
