Sometimes even the greatest stars need to sit back, relax and put on a game of women’s basketball.
After Monday night’s heartbreaking loss to the Golden State Warriors, LeBron James told reporters that he will be taking a break from basketball. But he not stepping away from the game entirely.
James is going to watch the WNBA.
“I will get away from the game a little bit, probably watch some WNBA games, though,” said the three-time NBA champ. “Can’t get away from it. I’ll probably watch—my son’s tournament is this summer, so I’ll be a part of the game. But as far as me actually playing, I won’t. I won’t be a part of the game much this summer.”

Other NBA players such as Steph Curry, Kevin Durant and Kobe Bryant have also expressed their love and appreciation of the WNBA in the past. And even though the WNBA does not need external validation to prove why basketball fans should watch the women’s game, it’s cool to see when greatness acknowledges greatness in different arenas.
