On Monday, the Los Angeles Sparks announced that they have signed free agent post player Mikaela Ruef to a training camp contract. Penny Toler, Los Angeles Sparks’ Executive Vice President and GM announced the signing.
Ruef, 6-foot-3 was picked up by the Seattle Storm at 31st overall in the third round of the 2014 WNBA Draft. The forward played for the Canberra Capitals for the last three years in Australia. This year with the Capitals, she has been averaging 12.4 ppg and 11.0 rpg through 24 games.
“Mikaela is a talented young post player that can stretch the defense,” Toler said. “She has continued to improve her skills overseas every year and I’m looking forward to seeing her in training camp.”

Ruef gradated from Stanford in 2014. The Sparks regular season begins on May 13.
