Kelsey Plum—this year’s No. 1 overall WNBA draft pick—made her debut for the San Antonio Stars on Thursday.
The former-Washington standout scored four points in 12 minutes in the Stars’ 94-82 loss to the Dallas Wings. She scored her first points on a jumper from the free throw line in the second quarter to give the Stars a 29-28 lead. Later in the game, she scored a layup in transition with 3:47 left in the third quarter to give San Antonio its first double-digit lead of the game.

But in final quarter, Plum and San Antonio were outscored 33-13 and the Wings were able to mount a rally for the win. Dallas’ Karima Christmas scored 18 points in the quarter, while Skylar Diggins-Smith and Allisha Gray each scored nine in the frame.

Dallas took its first lead of the second half after Glory Johnson hit a layup with just over five minutes remaining. The Stars were able to get to within 85-82 later in the quarter, but the Wings scored the final nine points of the game to complete the comeback.
Diggins-Smith and Gray each finished with 17 points for Dallas, while Johnson had 12 points and 11 rebounds.
Meanwhile, San Antonio’s Kayla McBride scored 18 points while Isabelle Harrison had her first career double-double with 16 points and 12 rebounds.
