The South Carolina women’s basketball team has hired Tennessee assistant coach Jolette Law, according to multiple reports.
As first reported by the Knoxville News Sentinel, Law will replace Nikki McCray-Penson for the defending NCAA Champion Gamecocks. McCray-Penson was recently hired as the head coach at Old Dominion.
Law has been with the Lady Vols since 2012 and has brought in several strong recruiting classes, including the nation’s top incoming freshman class this year.
Law, who is originally from South Carolina, played collegiately at Iowa. She was later an assistant at Rutgers, the head coach at Illinois and also played for the Harlem Globetrotters.

Law will join another former Lady Vol in Columbia, as former Tennessee guard Te’a Cooper transferred to the Gamecocks this offseason. She will sit out the upcoming season and will then have two years of NCAA eligibility remaining.
