North Carolina Courage forward Ashley Hatch has been voted the National Women’s Soccer League (NWSL) Rookie of the Year, the league announced on Tuesday.
Hatch tied the NWSL rookie record with seven goals and one assist in 22 appearances during her first season. She made 13 starts and logged 1,200 minutes for the Courage, who finished with a league-best 16-7-1 record this season and lost in the NWSL championship against Portland. Her seven goals ranked second on the team and eighth in the NWSL this season. Three of those goal were game-winners.

Hatch, who also stars for Team USA and played collegiately at BYU, made one NWSL Team of the Month in June. Hatch was selected with the second overall pick in the NWSL Draft this past January.
