On Friday, the Western New York Flash announced they had acquired rights to Brazilian international Rosana from the Houston Dash in exchange for their third-round pick in the 2018 NWSL College Draft.
The Flash picked up the 34-year-old left winger from Houston to add depth to their championship squad for the 2017 season.
Rosana never appeared for the Dash, thanks to Brazil’s centralization efforts ahead of the previous cycle’s major tournaments. She instead went to the 18-month long program intended to get better results in the 2015 Women’s World Cup. Her most recent club team was Paris Saint-Germain of the French Division 1 Féminine.

In the club’s official release, general manager Rich Randall said, “This is a great opportunity to bring an experienced, top-class international player to the Flash. Credit to our Technical Director Charlie Naimo, as he continues to do an excellent job of finding ways to improve our roster.”
