WATCH: Amanda Kessel awarded Star of the Night by ESPN’s SportsCenter

Amanda Kessel had quite the weekend at the National Women’s Hockey League All-Star Game last weekend. She captained her team to an 11-10 win over Team Steadman, scoring a hat-trick, including the game-winner, along the way.

On Monday morning, ESPN’s SportsCenter took notice.

The show, which rarely covers women’s hockey, gave it’s star of the night to “a hockey player named Kessel, not Phil, who’s having a great season with the Pittsburgh Penguins, but his sister Amanda.” The 45-second segment then goes on to show Kessel’s highlights from the All-Star Game.

Kessel and the New York Riveters return to action Sunday when they host the Connecticut Whale.
