Chicago Sky blow past San Antonio Stars behind Vandersloot’s fifth straight double-double

The Chicago Sky dispatched the San Antonio Stars 94-74 on Thursday night behind guard Courtney Vandersloot’s fifth straight double-double. Vandersloot finished with 21 points and 10 rebounds to lead Chicago (11-16) to victory. Last week, Vandersloot became the first player in WNBA history to record four straight doubles-doubles in points and assists.

The Sky started the game on a 12-2 run and never looked back against San Antonio (6-22).

All-Star guard Allie Quigley finished with 17 points, while fellow All-Star center Stefanie Dolson poured in 15 points. Forward Jessica Breland added 11 points, as the Sky shot a scorching 57 percent from the field and 48 percent from three in the game.

Despite getting blown out on Thursday, the Stars shot a solid 46 percent from the field and 58 percent from three in the game. Forwards Dearica Hamby and Sequoia Holmes led the way off the bench with 17 points and 14 points, respectively. Center Isabelle Harrison added 10 points.

The Sky host the Los Angeles Sparks next Friday, while San Antonio will head home and take on the Atlanta Dream this Saturday night. For tickets, visit SeatGeek.
