The Boston Storm of the United Women’s Lacrosse League (UWLX) have named Abbey Capobianco as their new head coach, the team announced Wednesday.
Capobianco, who is also currently the head lacrosse coach at Assumption College, played collegiate lacrosse at both Central Connecticut State and UMass Amherst.
“It was instantly clear to us that she is the right coach for our team as we enter our second season,” Storm general manager Andrew Fink said in a statement. “Abbey shares our enthusiasm for the game of lacrosse, desire to win a championship, and above all, grow the game of women’s lacrosse. Abbey has played Division I lacrosse at the highest level and as a college coach, she has demonstrated the ability to build a winning program. We are fortunate to have a coach of her caliber on our sideline this season.”
