Top 10 prospect Ashley Owusu commits to Maryland

Top 10 Class of 2019 prospect Ashely Owusu committed to Maryland on Thursday. Owusu, a 5’9″ point guard from Fairfax, Virginia, also considered Penn State, South Carolina, UConn, and West Virginia.

“I made a visit there and everything just seemed right,” Owusu said. “Maryland has been recruiting me for a long time and the visit just proved to me that Maryland is where I want to be.”

Owusu, who is Maryland’s first commit so far for 2019, has led her high school to back-to-back state titles as a freshman and sophomore. Owusu has a great combo game, as she is able to score off the dribble and from mid-range. Along with being a great scorer, Owusu is also considered an efficient playmaker and facilitator.
