Right now American soccer star Alex Morgan is one of the highest paid players in the world and its not on United States soil.
The Orlando Pride forward is currently on loan playing with French powerhouse Olympique Lyonnais (OL), and according to reports, the team pays her $33,000 per month. The highest salary in the National Women’s Soccer League (NWSL) for the 2016 season was $39,700 per season for players who are not on the U.S. national team. The average salary in the NWSL is just over $16,850, according to the most recent reports.
Morgan signed with Lyon in December and started playing with the squad in January, which means the 27-year-old has made a lot more money than most players in the U.S.
